FRIENDS
Keeping track of up to 50 characters: who is in the world and on which map, once they have added you too.
- Adding a friend — Type a character's name into the Friends window and press Add, or write /friend <name> in chat. A list holds up to 50 characters, never yourself and never one twice. The character need not be in the world.
- Removing a friend — Press Remove on a friend's row and confirm with "Sure?", or write /unfriend <name> in chat. The one removed is not told.
- Whose list it is — The list belongs to the character, not the account, and lives on the server. A friend whose character is deleted falls off it.
- Online only when mutual — A friend shows as online, with the map they are on, only while they have added you too. A friend who has not reads as offline whether or not they play: nobody is tracked without their consent.
- Whispering — Whisper on the row of a friend shown as online closes the window and points the chat input at them. A friend who has not added you back reads as offline, so cannot be whispered from the list.
- Being added — When someone adds you while you are in the world, you read it in chat with the /friend that adds them back; when they add you back, you read that too. Nobody you ignore with /ignore is announced.
- Coming and going — When a friend who lists you comes into the world or leaves it, you read it in chat, and coming in plays a sound. Crossing to another map or a quick reconnect is neither.
